Introduction to
Adobe Premiere Pro

This course is an introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro, another industry-leading video editing software that is equally accessible to amateur and professional editors alike.  You will learn best practices for workflows, transcoding footage, and project organization. We will delve deep into Premiere’s signature tools and methods, including its intuitive ways of cutting, utilizing timelines as source material, and its great capabilities for start-to-finish editing — from project to inception, to color-grading and FX passes, and finally to export & delivery. 


Who this course is for:

  • Beginners with no prior experience in Adobe Premiere

  • Avid editors looking to transition to Adobe Premiere

  • Editors looking to establish best practices in setting up Premiere projects


Course requirements: 

  • A computer (a second monitor is strongly suggested, but not required)

  • An external hard drive (an SSD drive is strongly suggested).

  • A fast and stable internet connection.

  • Zoom (free); an Adobe Premiere Pro license (we will provide one) 

  • A solid understanding of Mac’s OS and/or PC’s Windows

SCHEDULE:

  • Spring Term (beginning May 5):

    • OPTION 1: Tuesdays & Fridays (10:00am - 12:00pm)

    • OPTION 2: Tuesdays & Fridays (6:00pm - 8:00pm)

  • Total course time: 4 weeks, plus 1 free onboarding session

  • Total course hours: 16
